Polished chrome finishes haven't lost their luster yet. From plumbing fixtures to bathroom sconces to cabinet hardware, chrome continues to stand the test of time. While black is still a very popular finish amongst designers, I'll be the first to say, I love chrome!
Chrome is classic and cleans up nicely when polished with a soft cloth. More importantly, chrome is the only universal finish there is. You can count on all chrome items coordinating with each other. When looking at other finishes like gold or black, there are several shades to decipher between. There is ash gray, honey bronze, natural brass, sable, umbrio, satin nickel, matte black, and titanium. Phew! Well, you get the point...and that's not all!
This mid-century globe sconce is adorable and would look perfect paired with a simple chrome faucet. It can either be installed up or down.
When designing a bathroom, while it's okay to mix metals, it is also okay, and quite frankly, dynamic to keep the same finish throughout. This Kohler widespread faucet is gorgeous and simple. I love the "X marks the spot" hot and cold handles.
